Good cup for experienced cup users

My 10 month old is very picky about her cups. And this one seems to have her stamp of approval. We’ve typically been using cups without valves (I think maybe she is a lazy drinker). With the valve in, she had a hard time with this cup at first. Without the valve, it leaked too much. But after quite a few weeks of trying it, she has gotten the hang of using it with the valve. Since the sipper is a little smaller than other cups, my daughter sometimes has a hard time finding the right spot to drink out of. The idea of an insulated cup is nice but I don’t think it’s necessary and I think it adds extra weight to the cup. It seems harder for my daughter to handle and tip this cup back than other, lighter cups. I’m sure as she grows, though, it will be fine. It has a nice shape with the narrow middle to make it easier to grasp. The design and colors are very cute. The valve is a little more cumbersome to clean than some others because it is very soft and has 3 layers. But it also never leaks when the valve is in so that far outweighs the cleaning issue in my book! It is very easy to clean (other than the valve) and assemble or disassemble. So this may not be the right cup for a baby just starting on cups but, after a month of using them, this seems to be a good choice for my little one. Thank you weeSpring Parent Panel for giving me the opportunity to try this cup.

Average cup. Does the job but difficult to clean

This Chicco sippy cup is fairly nice. I like that it is insulated and the size is good but it has its downsides. My son got milk all over the carpet by shaking it upside down. So it’s not fully spill-proof. I like that it has only a few parts to clean but the lid and the valve are difficult to clean. They have small spaces that can’t be reached with a sponge, washcloth, or regular brush. Overall it’s an average cup...not a bad cup but not great. I received this cup to review as part of the WeeSpring parent panel. These are my own opinions.

So easy to clean!

This cup is great and easy to use and clean! All of the parts come apart which help ensure nothing builds up and gets gross. Our daughter is still adjusting to cups but is able to use this like a champ. Even if she dumps it upside down, it never spikes!!! They design is also great and the cup itself is easy for her to hold. Perfect for those tiny hands. Thank you weeSpring Parent Panel for giving us the chance to test this out!!

Holy grail sippy cup! Zero spill!

Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for giving us the Chicco Insulated Rim Spout Trainer sippy cup to try. This is the BEST sippy cup, here's why. We were currently using 4-5 top brand sippy cups that had been purchased after being unable to find a brand that lived up to its promise of being both spill-proof and easy to clean. Fortunately my kids never latched onto one brand, allowing me to continue my search for the holy grail sippy cup. Just because they accepted many brands, did not mean I did. As a parent, I don’t care how much my baby likes the cup… If it leaks or is difficult to clean, it's a no from me! The Chicco Insulated Rim Spout Trainer sippy cup is a total of 3 pieces- cup, lid, valve. The cup is easy to clean with no hidden grooves allowing bacteria in and. The valve attaches quickly and easily to the lid, making assembly after washing a breeze. The valve does not retain water after washing, another win in my book! All parts are top rack dishwasher safe which is HUGE for me as a mom who is always on-the-go! The cup fits everywhere from car seat cup holder, to stroller, and is easy for little hands to hold. The price point is on par with other brands on the market, so great price for the quality! This is the ONLY cup I will use from now on. Zero spill! Holy grail! Every mom needs this! I would definitely recommend tossing your other sippy cups goodbye and picking up a the Chicco at your earliest convenience. Thank you again to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending this holy grail cup to try and review. I've already ordered more!

No-Spill Sippy!

We've been using the Chicco Insulated Rim Spout Trainer Sippy Cup for several weeks now and overall, it's a great cup! My 17 month old had no problem figuring out how to use it. He dropped it and shook it and it didn't leak with that normal use. We did have one leak when he left it lying on its side for a long period of time. I'm not sure if it was leaking from the rim or the spout, but it never leaked otherwise. Cleanup was a breeze. The insert came out easily and, as long as I didn't leave it sitting with milk inside, I didn't have a problem. It does have some crevices that would be difficult to clean if left sitting too long, but this seems to be a standard problem with no-spill cups and this one isn't any worse than others. I was given this cup to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel.

Good sippy cup

Thanks to the weeSpring parent panel I was able to try the 9 oz Chicco Insulated Rim Spout Trainer Sippy Cup for free. For some reason my son had some trouble getting used to drinking from the cup the first few times that we used it. I'm not sure whether he had to suck harder to get something out, or if he just wasn't used to the shape of the lid, but after a few tries he mastered it. The cup is very easy to put together, amd can easily be used with or withput the silicon insert that helps to avoid leaks. We have yet to have any spills with the cup, and the only time it has really leaked was if it was left sitting on it's side or upside down for extended periods of time. I did like that it came with a cover that could be placed on top for travelling to insure there were no spills. This cup has been easy to clean, and the lid is easy to take apart and put back together. Overall there are a lot of positive aspects to the cup, so pushing through and getting my son used to it was worth it.

Overall, a decent cup

We received the Chicco Insulated Rim Spout Trainer Sippy Cup for free as members of the weeSpring Parent Panel. We received the blue star design, and it was very cute. My daughter enjoyed using the cup, and carried it around with her every where we went. She was able to easily drink from it both with and without the removable valve, though I found that the cup leaked without it. It was easy enough to clean the cup, but I do worry that the valve may become difficult to get really clean over time because of all the grooves in it. I was disappointed that it didn’t really keep her drink as cold as I would have expected an insulated cup to, but it has been very hot in our area. Overall, it isn’t a bad cup, and my child enjoyed using it. If purchased, I would definitely recommend using the removable valve to reduce spills, and would not rely on it to keep a drink cool on a hot day.

Sippy cup review

I received the Chicco Insulated Rim Spout Trainer Sippy Cup as part of the WeeSpring Parent panel. My daughter is 18 months old. The graphics on the cup were very cute. The insulation in the cup made me comfortable taking the cups on outings. The cup was easy to use and easy to clean. The cup did not leak or spill. This feature is important to me since my baby likes to throw things as soon as she is finished with them.

no bite marks, no leaks, doesn’t fit

I received the Chicco Insulated Rim Spout Trainer Sippy Cup from the weeSpring Parent Panel for review. Here’s my pass/fail gauge, can I take it with us? It would be great if the cup was a tiny bit slimmer to fit into the car seat pocket well. As it is, you can shove it into the car seat and it sits near the top of the hole so it’s real close in size, just a smidge to wide. So many sippy cups don’t fit in the cup holder and it’s silly that they aren’t designed to. Does it work? Both my one year old and three year old can hold the cup well. The cup has not leaked and the stopper doesn’t come out when you shake it for mixed drinks (chocolate milk, watered down juice, etc). The spout shape is different and is less likely to get chewed on, which is amazing! Does it look good? I think the star pattern on the outside of the cup is cute.

Great, no leak sippy cup!

The Chicco Insulated Rim Spout Trainer Sippy Cup is a great cup! First, being that it is insulated, it’s excellent for taking on the go on warm summer days. It doesn’t sweat and get your car seat or stroller all wet. The lid is easy to screw on and does not leak! Personally I love the inside of the lid! There is a easy to remove spout to make it spill proof. Being able to remove this easily makes it easy to clean. There aren’t a bunch of crevices that need to be scrubbed, cleaning is quick and easy. I have washed it on the top rack of the dishwasher without issue. The only negative for this cup it that I feel the lid wasn’t thought out well. It is large, covers the entire top, but when you remove it there’s no where to put it. Perhaps making it dual function so it snaps on the bottoms, or has an optional cable to keep it connected to the cup. Honestly, the lid was lost the first day we got the cup and has probably found its way to the trash. That being said, I don’t see a huge need for lids on sippy cups that don’t leak. Overall it’s a great sippy cup and I would buy more. I received this product to review as part of the weeSpring Parent Pannel.

Messy sippy cup

I have been looking for spill proof sippy cups since my son is turning one and I'm trying to transition him from bottles. I recieved the chiccos insulated rim spout trainer sippy cup from weeSpring parent panel free to test out. This sippy cup was a total disappointment. It leaks and makes a mess and the valve kept constantly falling out of place. As a result the lid would collect liquid and leak all over if the cup wasn't up right. Since the valve kept falling down, it would make it difficult for my son to drink from it without the contents getting all over my son because of no control of flow. It was just too problematic.

Leaks be gone!

I received the Chicco Insulated Rim Spout Trainer Sippy Cup thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel. As the mom of a 2 year old you can imagine we have about a million sippy cups in our cabinet. I’m sure you can also imagine how many of those leak (hint: most). I was thrilled with this cup. The hard spout made it impossible for my daughter to bite and make the holes larger, causing leaks. She was able to take her sippy to bed and have zero spills, even when she fell asleep with it still half full. The other bonus is that it is super easy to clean. Unlike other sippys that have a ton of hard to clean nooks and crannies. This has become our go-to cup and I will be buying more as a result.

Easy to use and clean!

We received the chicco insulated rim spout trainer sippy cup from wee spring panel. Our daughter is 15 months old and is loving her sippy! At first it was a little hard for her to use because the spout is small. However, she was quick to pick up on it! It keeps her water and milk nice and cold. She’s a huge fan of ice cold water so this sippy is great! It’s east for her to hold and we love the design on the cup. Cleaning the cup is also very easy.

Well Designed Cup That Doesn’t Leak!

I have tried every cup under the sun and this one is a keeper. My son loves the design on the cup and I love that it doesn’t leak! Another huge plus to me is that the cup is insulated which makes it nice for travel or just being out and about on the weekend. I also really like the lid, I feel better about throwing the cup in my purse when there is a lid. My son has had no issue using the cup and having the removable valve means the cup can grow with him and is easy to clean. I received this cup through the weeSpring Parent Panel.

We love it!

I received this item thanks to WeeSpring Parent Panel. You might think it's just a normal sippy cup, which it is but what it does compared to others is priceless. I washed it as soon as we received it and I was impressed with how easy it was to clean. There is only a one piece valve which is easy to remove and replace. The valve doesn't even have to be used for when your toddler is ready. Having to put just 3 pieces together is so much better when I'm in a rush. Once my daughter saw the bottle she loved it, she has taken so well to this cup and loves drinking from it. It is very easy to drink from and is a great size for little hands. Another bonus is that she can drink her milk to the last drop. Her other cups have to be open for her to finish her milk which is a nuisance. And another plus is that it doesn't leak! My daughter has dropped it a few times and I was surprised to see that not even one drop of milk was on the floor. Just in case there is an added lid cover for extra protection when carrying it in your bag. I definitely recommend this sippy cup!

Great cup!

This cup is a really great one. We have tried about every toddler cup out there, and this one might be one of my favorites. As a mom, I like that the cup feels like a really substantial cup. It has been dropped many times and so far no leaks. It's really easy to take apart and wash, and the insulation seems to work pretty well. No issues to comment on here. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this cup.

Great Design

We received this Chicco Insulated Rim Spout Trainer Sippy Cup as a member of the weeSpring Parent Panel. My son is almost a year and still relies on handles to assist in learning to drink out a sippy cup. We do love the design and ease of use, but found that this particular cup is better suited for a child a bit older than a year. It is very easy to assemble and disassemble and simple to clean as well. I also love that this cup will grow with him as he gets older. I only wish that it had the option to purchase removable handles so that we could use it now. We have tried many times and he isn't quite ready. All in all, this is a great sippy cup and I would recommend for children who are able to hold it without handles independently.

Good, Not Great

I received this produce through the weeSpring Parent Panel. We were really excited for an insulated sippy cup to try, but our child's reaction was less than thrilled. I received this produce through the weeSpring Parent Panel. We were really excited for an insulated sippy cup to try, but our child's reaction was less than thrilled. Pros: Good design, it was easy for a 20-month old to hold, and it was sturdy, surviving several drops on hard surfaces without getting scratched. The insulation was also good, it kept ice water cold for a day trip to the zoo. It is also easy to clean and put back together. Cons: The flow is low and easily frustrated our child. Even taking out the regulator, he did not enjoy drinking from this cup. Whether it was the low flow or the hard plastic nipple, either way he did not like it and would always go back to drinking from a different cup (even after multiple attempts). We also wished the protective cover was on a hinge so it would stay attached to the cup. It was easily disconnected when dropped or tossed into a bag. It is also promoted as spill proof, but when our child shook it or dropped it, there was always some leakage, and sometimes even when they would turn it upside down.

Great Sippy Cup With No Leaks!

A big thank you to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this Chicco sippy cup in exchange for my honest review. Our family is a big fan of Chicco--it's a brand that we know and trust. My son is almost two and would love to drink independently from a regular cup, but he's not there yet, so we need sippy cups like this one to prevent spills. All parents know it can be a challenge to find a cup that their children like, that doesn't leak. This cup is super easy to use, and I like that the valve can be removed based on my child's needs as he grows. With the valve fully in place, we haven't had any leaks or spills! This cup is easy to clean, either in the sink or in the dishwasher. Due to the insulation, it does get nice and cold when placed in the refrigerator. The cup will certainly grow with my son when he no longer needs to use the valve to prevent spills and can sip independently. Thank you for a great product!

Well designed insulated cup with no leaks

I received this cup from the Weespring parent panel. First of all,I love the colors and design of this cup. Sleek, understated and not an obviously "kid" design. My daughter is a throw everything once sort of girl and I'm happy to say that this cup held up to the test. No leaks or spills. I liked the fact that I could control the flow of liquid from the cup by using or not using the valve inside the lid. It was easy to clean and to put together after cleaning. My only suggested improvement would be to make the spout a little more obvious. That was the only part that challenged my kid. I didn't try the cup with warm or hot liquid but it did great keeping cold liquids cold.

Leakproof and Easy to Clean!

I give this sippy cup 5 stars because it gets the job done! My favorite things about it are that it is leakproof (even after being thrown to the floor by baby!) and super easy to clean. It is very easy to put together or take apart and the optional valve (attach it to make the cup leak proof, remove it for a faster flow) is a great touch! The cup doesn’t have handles but my newly 1 year old baby didn’t have any issues holding it, and bonus, no handles means it fits in cup holders and the diaper bag easier! For cleaning I just took it apart and put all the pieces on the top rack of my dishwasher. The cup comes with a plastic lid that clicks on which is super handy for on the go. The only negative I found with this cup is that the mouth opening is rather small, which sometimes made it difficult for my 12 month old to get it correctly lined up with her mouth. She did seem to get the hang of it after a few uses so it isn’t enough of an issue for me to dock any stars. Overall it’s a great cup and I’ll definitely need to buy a few back-ups to have on hand! I was given this cup to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel but all opinions are my own.

Love the spout!

I have a two year old who loves this cup! It does not spill when tipped over or slammed to the ground (like other popular brands). My son loves the natural shape of the spout and I love that the valve is easy to clean (although I wish it would stay attached some how). It kept his water cold for several hours. The outside shape of the cup is curved which makes the cup easier for him to hold and less likely to be found on the ground. I received this product through the weeSpring Parent Panel. Thank you weespring for this great cup!

My child was easily able to drink from this cup. I was a little concerned about flow since the holes are so small, but it was just fine. I really love the one-piece valve and how easy it is to remove, clean, and replace. We've had zero leaks or spills with this cup, and it fits securely in our car seat's cupholder. I received this cup from the weeSpring Parent Panel. This cup was good not great. I wish it was clear. My son sometimes didn't take it until I showed him what was inside. Also I wish it had measure makers like ounces. The cup in general was easy to clean which I liked. Other likes: - easy to drink from - my son liked drinking from it - it leaked if I took out the plastic piece under the mouth piece which isn't surprising. If I left the piece the everything was fine and no leaks. - liked the color - short term insulation is pretty good

Cute and hardy, but doesn't suit us

I received the Chicco Insulated Rim Spout Trainer Sippy Cup as part of a free trial run by weespring parent panel in exchange for my own honest, unreserved review. Upon receipt of the cup, I immediately washed it and filled it to give to my 23 month old son to try out. I was very impressed by the quality plastic, hard spout and fun colors the cup boasted, and imagine that it will last a very long time. My son was very excited to take the cup for himself, and enjoyed looking at the fun blue starfish design on the outside of our particular cup. When he tried drinking from the cup, he worked on it for maybe five minutes, but due to the limiting flow and the two, miniscule holes, he was quickly frustrated and went to find his trusty water bottle with a straw. This cup is very sturdy and attractive, but every time I attempt to give it to my son (despite his excitement), he rapidly gives up on it and won't finish consuming its contents, much to my chagrin. Another thing that I have recently noticed about the Chicco Insulated Rim Spout Trainer Sippy Cup is that if one turns it upside down and shakes it (even gently), quite a bit of fluid splashes out everywhere, despite the presence of a perfectly applied inner seal. All in all, I think this cup is very cute and will last a long time, but I don't see myself using it often nor purchasing more. With the limited flow, maybe it would serve a younger infant better, versus a toddler who prefers to drink rapidly.

Nice new cup

I received the Chicco Insulated Rim Spout Trainer Sippy Cup through the weeSpring Parent Panel. My child was able to drink from it very easily. It was very easy to take apart, put together, and clean. I liked that there aren't any small crevices where water could get trapped. The valve didn't really make a difference to my son (21 months) - he got enough water with or without. I liked the design of the cup - it was easy for my son to pick up and hold. The cup did leak when my son shook it and dropped it on the ground, but I don't think it would do that with normal usage.

Great cup!

This is a great cup to help transition from bottle to sippy cup to regular cup. My daughter can easily drink from this cup. It is the right size she can comfortably hold in her hand. She had no trouble holding a full cup to drink from. As a parent, I really liked the options regarding the valve; you can use it or remove it. The cup works well either way. It is very easy to take apart and clean. I like the fact that it is insulated so that her milk stays cold (later cool) if she decides to carry her cup around all morning, rather than drinking her milk at breakfast. I have not had any issues with spilling or leaking with this cup. I can easily give it to her while she is in her car seat in the back, and I do not worry about finding the contents of her cup spilled all over her outfit. I was given this cup to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel and I thank them for providing this to me. I should mention I did go purchase another of my own as well because I liked it so much! I would recommend this cup!

Loved this cup

My kiddo loved this cup. It was easy for him to hold and the spout was much easier for him to drink from than other cups. I loved the design and the lid that came with to keep it from spilling. I do wish it had been completely leak proof as I did not carry around the plastic stopper at all times, I was hoping the lid would be enough but when tipped upside down it did leak. I also liked the design on the cup and insulation of the cup. Please note I received the product as part of the Wee Spring Parent panel.

Q: Is this a glass sipper? I mean no plastic use

1 Answer

A: The material in the double walled insulated cups that keeps beverages cold is polypropylene plastic. With the one-piece silicone valve in place, gentle sipping activates the flow of liquid from the spout. You can flip the cup upside down and all around without leaking a drop. Or easily remove the valve for practice with free-flow drinking.
