Our hospital car seat techs use these for helping our NICU families be able to take their babies home. These work great for keeping our small babies in place in their car seats.

Wish there was the option for buying separately

Product is as shown. Would have given five stars if there was an option to buy the two pieces separately. I only needed the body insert, so now I have two head cushions.

Replacements

Replaced the straps on my keyfit 30 for baby number 3. The original was starting to shred. Took off easily except the crotch. Ended up cutting that strap off and put the new one in easily. Looks like a brand new car seat again. Straps are original to what it came with.

What we needed
11 months ago
We ordered the newborn insert for our preemie girl to give her a better fit and more comfort in her car seat. Only reason I’m giving a 4 star is because I had to remove the head insert as it was pushing her head too far forward causing the “chin to chest” deadly position.

Q: Is it safe to remove the headrest insert when baby requires the top should strap height?

A: The newborn body insert must be removed once the child reaches 11lbs. You may continue to use the head insert. The head insert must be fastened in the slot above where the shoulder straps go through the back rest. It cannot be fastened in the same slot as the harness straps. Once the harness straps are in the upper most slot you must discontinue using the head insert.

Q: Are there any car seat inserts for key fit 30, for babies weighing more than 11 lbs?

A: The Head & Body Insert is to be used up until the child reaches 11lbs. You may then remove the body portion and keep the head portion in as long as it is not installed within the same slots as the harness. It should be installed in the slots above the harness straps. There are no additional inserts that are to be used once the child reaches the 11lbs.

A: The body insert is designed to help ensure a better fit for infants who weigh between 4 and 11 lbs. The head insert can be used with or without the body insert.

A: The KeyFit Head & Body Insert is not compatible with the KeyFit 35 Infant Car Seat. This particular car seat does have its own Head & Body Insert that is availble to purchase by calling into our Customer Service Dept. at 1-877-424-4226. We are available Mon-Fri 8am-5pm EST. A: The Chicco KeyFit or KeyFit 30 Head & Body Insert is compatible with all KeyFit and KeyFit 30 models, including the KeyFit 30 Zip car seat. It is not compatible with any KeyFit 35 or Fit2 car seat.
