Replace the head and body insert on your KeyFit® 30 Zip Infant Car Seat. This insert features a soft brushed stripe on one side and reverses to a black breathable mesh on the other. The body insert is designed to help ensure a better fit for infants who weigh between 4 and 11 lbs. The head insert can be used with or without the body insert.
Your child’s safety is our top priority. As a reminder, please never use a car seat that has been in an accident, even if there is no visible damage. Also, do not use the child restraint if any part of the harness is damaged.

Compatibility
Compatible with all KeyFit® 30 models, including those purchased as part of a travel system. This set is NOT compatible with the KeyFit® or any Fit2® car seats.
Care and Maintenance
Fabrics may be spot-cleaned with mild soap and water, or machine washed in cold water on delicate cycle using mild detergent. Hang to dry. Do not bleach.

Q: I was told that you can upgrade your KeyFit 30 to be a KeyFit Zip by buying the replacement parts? I have a KeyFit 30 and would really like the zip if possible. I know this is the newborn insert for the zip so will it work with the regular KeyFit 30?

Q: Is it safe to remove the newborn insert before the baby reaches 11 lbs? (At 9-10 lbs)?

Q: Are the infant inserts machine washable?

A: The Keyfit and Keyfit 30 seat cover, head, and body inserts may be machine washed using a mild detergent, cold water on a delicate cycle. Hang to dry. Do not put the fabrics in the dryer.

Q: Baby is 5 months, the headrest with the KeyFit zip seems to bother her (horseshoe), her torso isn't long enough to step up to the highest slots yet, so she still needs the headrest support. Can I use the flat one that goes with the other keyfit models?

A: The Keyfit 30 Zip head and body inserts in the Genesis and Obsidian are the same color. The front side is gray and the reversible back side is black.

Q: My car seat came with this insert, when my son is big enough, do I just remove the inserts and let him be I. The car seat without them?

A: The newborn body insert must be removed once the child reaches 11lbs. You may continue to use the head insert. The head insert must be fastened one slot above where the shoulder straps go through the back rest. Once the harness straps are in the upper most slot, you must discontinue using the head insert.

A: The Newborn positioner/body insert must be removed once the child weighs more than 11 lbs. The Head insert must be installed one slot above the harness straps. Once you move the harness straps to the upper most slots, you must discontinue using the head insert.
